


Biography
Sandy Lorente is a film director, photographer and a journalist, who is currently based in Luxembourg. Attracted by visual arts, she first is involved with photography before directing video projects she shoots in Brussels and in Madrid. She directed several short documentaries, experimental films and video clips.
In 2003 she participates at the European script contest “Prix Kieslowski” and wins the second prize. She then decides to direct « IvoEva », the short-movie based on her awarded script. « IvoEva » has been selected in several Short Film Festivals.
In February 2007, she was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus, part of the International Film Festival in Berlin. The same year, in May she receives a grant From the Film Fund Luxembourg to be present at the Cannes Film Festival, and « IvoEva » can be seen at the Short Film Corner in Cannes. July 2007, « IvoEva » wins the best fiction short film at Festival Cinéfleuve / Kino im Fluss in Saarbrücken.
In 2008, Sandy Lorente is invited to participate at the XIII Edition of the Biennial of young artist from Europe and the Mediterranean in Puglia (south Italy) from 22nd to 31st May. Where some of her pictures are exhibited.
She works for the moment on a new video clip, on a video-dance project and writes a new short-movie script.
